About
the Health Literacy Resource Center
The
Health Literacy Resource Center is a central resource for
health literacy information and training. It is a one-stop-shop
for Web-based health literacy resources. The information
is provided for literacy practitioners, health care professionals,
adult literacy and ESL students, and anyone who seeks a
clear understanding of health information.
The Resource Center was developed to engage its audience
in effectively and collectively responding to the problem
of low health literacy. Visitors to the Resource Center
can determine what information they need and what can be
done to improve health literacy in their literacy programs,
classrooms, homes, or health care facilities from the categories
of information provided.
California
Literacy, Inc., makes no claim as to the accuracy of the
information provided in the California Health Literacy Initiative
