Access

One goal of the California Health Literacy Initiative is to contribute to the development of quality measures of access for low health literacy populations. To reach this goal, we will continue to research existing standards and measures, and will then proceed by suggesting various standards, mandates, guidelines, and recommendations.

Awareness

One of the goals of the California Health Literacy Initiative is to launch patient and health care provider awareness campaigns. In these awareness campaigns, we will be focusing on reaching both patients with low literacy skills as well as health care providers (such as physicians, nurses, and public health practitioners) throughout the state of California.
